Makeup is very interesting. In retrospect it can enhance a woman’s beauty or hide flaws, leaving someone to believe makeup is in a way false advertisement. Personally makeup is troublesome, my patient level is immensely low. My everyday routine consists of showering and applying body lotion. I can’t imagine how long it truly takes a woman to sit there, resorting deep time into her face. The apprehension personally has discourage me from applying makeup as routine. Leaving myself disabled in the beauty world.
In the past my makeup kit was a Ziploc bag with one eye-shadow, one metallic silver eye pencil, two lipsticks ( dark eerie Mauve and Vampress Red by Kat Von D), Bobby Brown BB Cream, and Bare Essential foundation powder. Note, wearing this stuff is extremely rare, photo shoots were time I found any of this product useful. But, getting older and a little more comfortable I decided to try a bit. Watching KisaBeauty on Youtube, she inspired me to subscribe to Ipsy. A beauty site that offer sample beauty products as well full volume products for sale. The subscription consists array of beauty products sent to you each month based on your beauty needs (The Glam Bag). Honestly, I’m not purchasing full volume of products having lack of experience nor interest, walking into a Mac or Sephora is Hell. So, Ipsy was a great solution.
After taking the style quiz, January 2015 Glam Bag included Marsk Mineral Eye-shadow, OFRA Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil, theBalm Cosmetics Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner, Beau Gâchis® Paris Smudge Brush, and Lasting Smiles Lip Balm in Peppermint Creme. The overall selection was beautiful, I was simply impress. Two top favorites were the Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner and Marsk Mineral Eye-shadow. The eye-shadow gave off a mermaid shimmer, mix of violet-green mica, made my eyes neutrally pop, perfect for dewy looks. Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner is a gorgeous minimalist gold, beautifully defining my almond shape eyes. Plus, applying the liner is effortless with its’ smooth texture.
OFRA Universial Eyebrow Pencil was a stunner in my ordeal. Under the impression my eyebrows are pretty full, there was no need for an eyebrow pencil, the significant difference was obvious to my look. The OFRA Pencil integrated with eye-shadow and eyeliner so well, the look would’ve seem incomplete without it. Lasting Smiles Lip Balm was slightly disappointing. The formula is fine, but the mint irritated my lips leaving them dry. Maybe for summer it would be perfect, as it’s getting hotter the peppermint is becoming soothing. Also now, I actually own a makeup bag!
As months go on I’m really excited to see my beauty collection grow and experience something new every time.
